Eden Hazard’s official debut for Real Madrid has been postponed due to a minor thigh injury. The Belgium international suffered the injury in training yesterday, and is set to be sidelined for a few weeks.
According to an official statement on Real Madrid’s website the medical staff has diagnosed the injury to be a lesion in the recto anterior muscle of the left thigh.
It’s a minor blow for Real Madrid that were hoping to play Hazard in their La Liga opener against Celta Vigo Saturday afternoon. The galatico signing came from Chelsea in a €100m deal this summer, and expectations are huge for the offensive winger.
Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, Vinicius, Luka Jovic or Lucas Vazquez will replace Hazard in the starting-11 later today.
